Amboseli National Park
Amboseli is famous for its big game and its great scenic beauty, hence making it a popular tourist attraction. It lies North West of Kilimanjaro, on the border with Tanzania. It was established in the year 1968. During dry season there is a large concentration of wildlife.
At Amboseli you have a fantastic view of Mt. Kilimanjaro which is the highest free standing mountain in Africa (5896m). It’s superb for wildlife photographs. There is also an approximate of one thousand elephants. In addition, there are buffalos, hippos, zebras, wildebeest, and impala which are favored by Enkongo Narok swamps and other permanent swamps. Numerous birds feed, breed and nest in the lush vegetation.
Inclusive are crowned cranes, long-necked Africa’s darter and Egyptian geese. There is a panoramic view of most of the parks, climbing is worth effort from the observation hill-nomatior.
The park is accessible all year round driving (3-5 hrs) and by flight (40 mins.)
