Masai Mara National Reserve

Masai Mara is known as one of Africa’s Greatest Wildlife Reserves, situated in southwest Kenya and is part of the Nothern section of the Serengeti National Park. Famous for its abundance of the big cats,Lion, cheetah,Leopard and the Great Wildbeast Migration and the Maasai people, well known for their distinctive custom and dress.
The Mara ecosystem holds one of the highest lion densities in the world and this is also where over 2 MILLION wildbeasts, zebra and Thompson Gazzelle migrate annually.
The Mara National Reserve stretches 1,510 sq. km and raises 1,500-2170 m above sea level. It’s about 270 km from the capital city Nairobi and takes about 5-6 hrs driving or 40-45 minutes by flight. The road is good for the most part but there’s a section from Narok town to the main gate that is dusty and bumpy but fairly good.
The Maasai Mara is an all year round destination with the big cats, and all the big game still in the Mara ecosystem.
